Mesopotamia
Location
In the text it said, ancient Mesopotamia is part of modern-day Iraq. Mesopotamia was also located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Also, according to the book, "much if the regions is now hot desert, but any areas were much more fertile in antiquity." (Steele 6)
writing
In the text it states "At first they used picture symbols to represent objects such as cattle, grain, or fish." (Steele 12)
An example is they would use clay to write to represent any writing. I know this because they used a cuneiform to draw into the clay.
Architecture
I the text it states "A lasting symbol of ancient mesopotamia is a ziggurat, a massive terraced platform made brick." (Steele 24)According to the text, ziggurats looks just like pyramids in ancient Egypt.
government
In the text it states " In 1120 BCE their ruler, Tiglathpileser 1, founded an empire to the eastern mediterranean." (Steele 40) this is talking about how they found their empire and who did.
Religion
In the text it states "The sumerians worships many gods and goddesses." (Steele 14) According to the text, they also worship in stars and also they in fact do not worship the same gods that babylonians.
Art
In the text it said,"The Mesopotamians mastered many technologies and crafts at the early point in their history. (Steele 28) An example is they molded clay into pots by the eighth millennium BC. Also they produce copper and named it bronze.

Ancient China
art On page 16 it says " No two soldiers have the same face-each is individual portrait of a soldier from the Qin army. " The soldiers carried weapons but were stolen from grave robbers. They were meant to protect the Emperor's grave. (cotterell 16)
writing On page 11 it said "the sang kings use oracle bones to consult ancestral spirits." Questions and their answers were inscribed on the oracle bones. Many times, an ox bone and tortoiseshell was used and then scorched until it cracked. (Cotterell pg 11)
religion On page 12 it says "Confucius believed that the early years the Zhou dynasty (1027-256 B.C) were golden years of social harmony." He thought family relationships should have mutual respect because strong family bonds is part of a stables society. He discovered an outlook kindness, respect and the strength of the family. (Cotterell 12)
Architecture/technology On page 22 they said "Chinese inventions that made the world a different place were paper money, clockwork,slick,porcelain,fireworks,kites,umbrellas, and wheelbarrow." Their inventions are all around the world because of the silk road. They made a huge impact on the world. (cotterell 22)
government On page 16 it says "He built an impressive tomb guarded by thousands of life size warriors, probably in the belief that he would remain a powerful man in the afterlife." An example is he thought he was the most powerful man and remain that way when he died. He would use peasants to build the Great Wall of China and if not listen will die. (cotterell 16)
Commerce (trading) On page 22 it says "Chinese inventions were carried along the silk road to europe, where some had an enormous impact." They had a huge impact on the world sharing customs and natural resources. The used boats also which is one of their own inventions. (cotterell 22)
location: On page 6 it says "China is the world's oldest continuous civilization." Confucius wanted people to have a family/centered way of life. Dynasties govern the big population wisely and effectively. (6 cotterell)
