Throughout the entirety of this project I recorded ideas on how to convey complex pain processes to a live audience. My biggest concern was that these processes would come off as too complex and confusing, something that I definitely did not want people to feel. So, during the writing process, I really tried to include visualization techniques that were either relatable, visual, or situation based. Other than this, the actual act of writing the speech was not difficult. I found that because this was a topic and process I had been working with for so long, formulating what to share came naturally. Another aspect to preparing for the presentation was the creation of my visual aid. I again put an emphasis on clarity and tried to ensure that my slides really increased comprehension through visuals, diagrams, and purposeful text. After the physical development was complete, practice with Mr. DeMay, my parents, peers, and alone ensured that I was confident in my delivery.
