The different aspects of objective are a crucial piece that contribute to the play, audience, character and human behaviour

An actor without a plan for action is simply lost, unprepared, and a passive victim of the circumstances
Clear, active objectives are absolutely necessary in creating fully dimensional and fervently driven characters.
"I sigh as I watch these proceedings, offering side coaching in hopes that one of these actors will have the skill to truly connect with the characters desires and objectives"
"scene after scene I watch young actors portray depressed or angry Men who sulk around the stage, trapped in in active choices, playing only the motion of being lost, rather than pursuing the objective of being found and accepted"
Scene objective is a smaller unit of urgency and action determined by the given circumstances in a scene.
when a character deals with the given circumstances of each scene, those immediate priorities must be solved first before continuing on the path to the Main Objective.

Strong objectives are ones that must be strongly rooted in basic human need like; love, recognition, and education
This also creates a universal quality to the objectice, allowing any witness of the performance to immediately recognize and relate to this need
We can all relate to the need of being loved, to want recognition for something we do, or for the need to know more.

The objectives can lead the character in a specific direction. Once headed in that direction, the actor must understand how to navigate the twists and turns in the character’s journey
Beat shifts are motivated by the character’s thoughts, emotions, and actions.
