sensors and their uses
Sensors
-
The input could be light, heat, motion, moisture, pressure, or any other environmental condition.
Temperature Sensor
A temperature sensor is a device that measures the temperature of its surroundings and converts the data into a readable signal (digital or analog).

Motion Sensor
A motion sensor is a device that detects movement in a specific area. It senses physical motion — such as a person walking by — and converts that into an electrical signal that can trigger an action, like turning on a light or sounding an alarm.
Proximity Sensor
A proximity sensor is a device that detects the presence of an object or person nearby — usually without physical contact. It measures how close something is, and can trigger a response when something enters a defined range.
Pressure Sensor
A pressure sensor measures the force exerted by a liquid or gas and converts it into an electrical signal.
It's used to detect changes in pressure in systems to monitor performance, ensure safety, or control other devices.
-
Gas Sensor
-
It converts chemical or physical changes caused by gases into an electrical signal, which can trigger an alert, data logging, or automated response.
Sound Sensor
A sound sensor** is a device that detects sound waves (usually in the form of vibrations or air pressure changes) and converts them into an electrical signal.
It is often built using a microphone component, such as an electret mic or piezo element.
Touch Sensor
A touch sensor is an electronic device that detects and responds to physical contact (touch) or pressure from an object, usually a human finger or stylus.
