Core Idea: Every material has unique characteristics, such as how tough it is, how easily it bends, how it feels, and whether it soaks up liquids.
The Experiment:Gather samples of paper, cloth, plastic, and cardboard. Challenge yourself to figure out which one is the most absorbent by testing how they react to water. Use a simple chart to note down what happens.
-
Mindset & Approach: Bring an open and curious mind, be completely accurate and truthful with your data, and always keep your workspace clean and safe.

The Challenge:Pick a simple loaf of bread and map out its entire journey—all the way from a seed in a wheat field to the bag you buy at the grocery store. Along the way, make sure to name the different people who help make it happen.
-
What to keep in mind:Think about how hard these people work and why we shouldn't take everyday items or natural ingredients for granted.

Before Mixing
Flour
Appearance: It looks like a fine, bright white or off-white dry powder.
Texture: It feels soft, dusty, smooth, and completely dry to the touch.
Water
Appearance: It is a perfectly clear, see-through (transparent) liquid.
Texture: It feels wet, fluid, and runny, with no shape of its own.
After Mixing
The Combined Mixture
Appearance: The mixture loses its transparency and dryness. It turns into a solid, opaque, creamy-white or beige mass. You can no longer see the individual water or the loose powder.
Texture: The texture changes completely depending on how much water you use. It becomes a thick, sticky, and gooey paste, or it forms a stretchy, firm, and moldable dough. It feels heavy and holds its own shape instead of running or blowing away.
