Disorders:
Osteoporosis: Aged Women run a higher risk of osteoporosis: it's a disease when bone resorption exceeds deposit, the spongy bone of spine and neck of femur miost susceptible.
Osteomalacia: Bones are poorly mineralized and pain is upon bearing weight. Oseoid is produced but calcium salts are not adequately deposited which results in soft and weak bones.
Rickets: Vitamin D deficiency or insufficient dietary calcium results in bone deformities all because bone ends are abnormally long.
Paget's Disease: Rarely occurs before the age of 40 and is when there is excessive bone deposit; resorption cause bone to grow fast and develop poorly. It's most likely to occur in spine, pelvis, and skull. Very high ratio of spongy to compact bone and reduced mineralization.

Types of Bones:
Long Bones: Longer than they are wide and they help with movement. An example is femur, humerus, and tibia.
Flat Bones: Thins bones that protect organs and provide muscle attachment like the sternum, ribs, skull bones, and scapula.
Irregular Bones: Bones with complex shapes that serve different functions like the vertebrae and sphehoid bone.

Joints
Fibrous Joints: Bones connected by dense connective tissue; little or no movement. Suture is the skull bones that connect the different parts of the skull. The syndesmosis: bone connected by ligaments, bands of fibrous tissues. Short fibers offer little to no movement and long fibers offer a larger amount of movement. Then the Gomphoses: Peg in socket joints, only examples are the teeth in alveolar sockets, and fibrous connection is the periodontal ligament.
