Product strategy
What is product strategy?
Product strategy is about narrow down on strategic choices we must make that will deliver customer and business value
Strategic choice is a decision about where you’ll focus your limited resource to create greatest customer and business value. You have limited engineering capacity, time, budget and stakeholders attention. You cannot do everything simultaneously.
Do an exercise: You have one engineer, what will you prioritise to deliver greatest customer value and business value.
How to decide which choice is right?
Answer 5 questions
Is the problem important?
Who benifits?
What value will it create?
Why is it better investment than alternatives
What evidence support the decision?
How to Identify strategic choices or underserved problems?
Discover: Find important customer problems that are not being solved adequately.
Choose: Decide which problems should invest in solving, and which should we leave for later.
How?
Step 1: Find out who has the problem
Step 2: Investigate what these people struggle with
Question to ask
How did you solve it?
Did you build something yourself, use an existing service, or work around a limitation?
What was difficult, slow, risky, or expensive?
What happens when a credential needs to be updated, compromised, or revoked?
How frequently does this happen, and what is the impact?
What have you already tried to solve the problem?
Tell me about the last time you needed to store or use a credential in a product.

Recurring problems and affected customers
Product telemetry :
How people actually use existing capabilities
Engineering team discussions :
Duplicate implementations, maintenance burden, integration friction
Security incidents and audit findings :
