Big Bang
Claim
The universe began through a big bang, and it matters because it gives people an explanation and something to think about and it has a lot of evidence.
Evidence
Origin Stories: Before what we have now there was nothing except for a tiny compact ball that exploded and spread debris and developed planets and stars that keep expanding. The Chinese origin story started with an egg, then a figure named Pan Gu broke the egg sacrificing himself to create the universe. The universe was so hot before due to the amount of radiation, matter, and energy all compacted in a tiny area.
Evidence for the Big Bang: We know that the big bang is real because the universe is still expanding. We know this because of research many scientists have done to prove this. The farther you go out into the universe the higher levels of hydrogen there are .
Cosmic Calendar: From 13.8 BYA to 11 BYA there was the big bang, first stars, and the Milky way forming. Then from 9.8 BYA to 6.8 BYA stars burned and died. Then for a while the solar system was forming and the evolution of many planets happened.
Connection
The history of golf also had a very beginning like the big bang and started from nothing. Golf is also still growing and continues everyday the same as the solar system keeps expanding. Just like the solar system, golf also started a while ago in 1457 and went through many different changes through different time periods.

Stars
Claim
Stars change the universe by building heat for planets, for example earth and the sun we wouldn't live without it.
Evidence
Formation: Stars form when helium and gravity combine with goldilocks conditions to form stars and light. Then we get to gravity which is the force that pulls stars and mass together. Fusion is when two small atoms are smashed together and release energy while under a lot of pressure and heat.
Lifecycle: Stars die when helium, aging and dying stars combine and giant stars start collapsing creating supernova explosions. However stars with different masses have different lifecycles than stars with average masses. A star starts as a stellar nebula and depending on the mass it can take a more aggressive or less aggressive lifecycle.
Importance: The constellation I chose is draco, the reason its name is draco is because it's shaped like a dragon. Constellations are used for many cultural beliefs as some believe they are guardians or have significance to their life. Draco is the eighth largest constellation and its biggest star is Eltanin.
Connection
Golf is like stars because of the lifecycle. Golf started with just an idea and later started to grow with more people playing it and people started to get really good. Then it started streaming, becoming very entertaining for some. Golf also not only expanded through people but through technology by making new and improved clubs.

Solar System
Claim
The solar system works through a balance between the sun's gravity and the other planets in the solar system orbiting and having the perfect separation in order for the whole operation to work.
Evidence
Formation: Planets form when the ingredients mix with the goldilocks conditions to make the new complexity which would be planets. Exoplanets are planets outside of our solar system, there are 4 different kinds of exoplanets and there are around a billion of them. For a habitable zone everything needs to line up perfectly like the distance from stars, other planets and needs to be the perfect temp in order to have life.
Organization: Scaling down the solar system would make the earth the size of a marble and the solar system seven miles long with other planets being a grain of sand. Different planets are located in different areas in the solar system based on size and density. The orbital motion needs to stay as is for if the orbit changed enough the earth or moon could explode.
Change Over Time: Accretion is where gravity pulls gas, dust, and debris to form stars and planets. Earth has evolved a lot for example earth gaining water through asteroids carrying ice crashing into earth and realising water. Now we don't know for sure how water got here but as of now that is the best explanation we have.
Connection
Golf relates to the solar system because of the evolution. When golf first started it wasn't too popular but it started to evolve with new rules and new equipment. The rules added more clarity to the game and became easier to understand. The new equipment helped people play better with more forgiving and better clubs. Golf also evolved with courses becoming a lot harder because players were getting really good.

Reflection
What did you think before? How is it different now?
My understanding of space has changed a lot. At first I knew very little but basic stuff like that it was continuous. But now my understanding of it is much better. I know how stars are made, what happened during the big Bang, and I learned a lot about the solar system. My knowledge over this whole thing has grown a lot overall.
What was the best thing you learned about space?
The best thing I learned about space was our solar system. The reason for this is because it gave me an understanding of how our solar system works. And how everything lined up perfectly. I also liked learning about the solar system because it's very interesting and there are a lot of questions to ask about it.
Which has helped you the most?
The thing that has helped me the most was my notebook. The reason for this is because of all the information on there. It all helped me get a better understanding of what we learned and helped me through all of our projects.
Which do you need to strengthen for the next unit?
I need to strengthen my skills for remembering to bring my notebook when I bring it home. I need to improve in this because we need our notebooks everyday for class. So it's very important for me to have.

Why did you choose it: I chose this topic because I really like golf and feel like I can connect it well to space.
How does it apply to space? It applies because there was a start and an evolution and it works in its own way like space.

Solar System
Just like the solar system, golf went through evolution.
