For stars to be born, we need helium, materials from aging and dying stars, giant stars collapsing, and supernova explosions. Stars aging depends on their size, which determines which path they will take and how they will die. Despite them going through different life cycles, they all experience fusion. They all go through te main sequence and have some of their remnants ending in a stellar nebula like where they began.
