RAAS, Low blood pressure + low blood volume, TGF - Coggle Diagram
RAAS
Low blood pressure / low blood volume
release of renin from the juxtaglomerular cells in teh afferent arteriole.
renin causes the conversion of angiotensin to angiontensin II in the liver
Angiotensin II stimulates the contraction of the efferent arteriole to increase GFR (to ensure adequate waste removal).
Angiotensin also allows for the release of aldoterone from the adrenal gland, and the increase water and NaCl reabsorbtion in the PCT
Aldoterone increase water rebabsorption in the DCT ad NaCl which increases blood pressure and volume
Low blood pressure + low blood volume
renin released from juxtoglomerular cells
renin release stimualtes angiotensinogen conversion to angiotensin (II) in teh liver
Angiotensin II stimulates the vasoconstrction of teh efferent arterioles to increase the GFR, and increases NaCl and water reabsorption in the PCT + stimualtes the reelase of aldosterone form the adrenal gland
Aldosterone increases NaCl and water reabsorption from teh DCT
TGF
So an increased GFR = less salt ions getting reabsored because of increased renal flow rate
Mascula densa cells sense this decrease (increased quantity of Na+ and Cl- at the DCT)
They reelase ATP which is converted to ADP
ADP goes to the smooth muscle of the afferent arteriole, which contricts, decreasing the GFR
less sodium and chlorine make it to DCT, less ATP
Less ADP, vasodilation
return GFR back up
and so forth
