why do you want to become a veterinary nurse
Since starting in beechwood vets I have realised that veterinary nursing is the career I want to pursue. I have always been interested in animal welfare and science since studying zoology but have really enjoyed the practical and clinical side of veterinary care
I have learnt about just how much a vet nurse does not just supporting the vets but all the other skills it involves such as monitoring inpatients and animal anaesthetics, taking x-rays
I have really enjoyed learning the role of a vca through working at temple house and chapel allerton and through my in practice vca booklet (which is nearly finished) and the bronze and VCA course and ready to expand on this further
I have done my own research into the modules at the college as well as speaking to sam about it and have really enjoyed ready about the modules and the different topics these include. With some overlap seen from my zoology degree in animal behaviour and anatomy
Really keen to learn a lot more of the surgical side such as the diagnostic imaging and learning to take x-rays and monitoring anaestheitcs

What do you think will be difficult about this apprenticeship?
balancing work + studying + assignments + residential blocks
used to balancing my degree and other commitments such as working at las iguanas so feel like I will be able to manage this
Time management worked really so planning on out of my days and writing to do lists for each day. Also having a list of deadlines coming out so I could feel prepared for what was ahead of me
Quite happy to live away for the two weeks in the residential blocks as it will be a nice getaway from my mum and sister
