EMOTIONAL
He might feel different from his peers as he would have a different daily routine and diet compared to them.
Would be in and out of hospitals and would miss out on a lot of things.
May withdraw or may feel irritable when his genetic condition is spoken about.
As he has to commit to hospital hours for treatment and his needs can cause frustration towards his parents trying to help.
Eric may feel frequent medical anxiety as he would prone to catching illnesses that are more difficult to overcome
INTELLECTUAL
may miss school due to treatments and prolonged recovery times spent at home.
fall behind in academics, causing extra stress
SOCIAL
Struggles to make friends as he's in and out of hospital.
As he has to take digestive enzymes or do airway clearance routines during school hours can make Eric feel self conscience or embarrassed.
Will be isolated from other people with Cystic Fibrosis so he won't have anyone he knows who fully understands his daily reality.
PHYSICAL
frequent medication taken to help with the lung blockages
often fights frequent lung infections, preventing him from enjoying his hobbies/interests
Has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic condition passed down
may have delayed puberty due to the condition aswell as his growth spurt
has to take part in aerobic exercise as part of his treatment to help clear his airways.
this supports his interest in sports as he will be able to participate as part of treatment.
