I
I am committed towards continuously developing my professional skills and I have demonstrated my capacity to adapt quickly to taking on new responsibilities, create new processes and master new forms of technology. In my previouus role I was responsible for managing the library’s collection of electoral registers and during the British Library’s technology outage in October 2023 I developed a new process for retrieving the annually published electoral data files from local authorities alongside the creation of written guidance for colleagues to assist and oral presentations for local authorities to support them with adapting to a new system. Managing the collection required keeping up-to-date with relevant data protection and copyright restrictions, especially when collaborating with colleagues to action requests submitted from local authorities to obtain digitised copies or replacements of their data published in previous years. Mnaging the collection alongside monitoring and cataloguing the publication output of the UKHSa aand Department for Taansport required. high level of aattention to detail s well as ssuccessful time management skills. I also believe in the importance of building relationships and embracing difference. I take pride in my ability to support colleagues with their learning and development and acted as a supervisor for a member of one of the library’s second cohort of apprentices. Working as a mentor has given me valuable experience organising collaborative projects, bespoke training sessions and supporting with goals, objectives and pastoral care. In my current role I am responsible for processing inter library loans as well as supporting colleagues by proaactively maanaging enquiries and resolving problems with loans.
