In many cases this has to do with sustainability and perhaps changing of laws and economies. A just transition is actively helping them transform into something that better suits modern needs.
      - For example: Fast fashion provides us with a lot of cheap clothes. However new laws are appearing about working conditions and carbon emissions and not all companies are able to raise to these standards. On the flipside of things, at least it was providing jobs. Instead of just shutting down the whole business, a just transition would be to transform their business into something that better suits the needs of today's society

        Your Q1 (what's keeping the societal issue in place) is essentially a just-transition question in disguise: the traditional humanitarian aid model treats the refugee crisis as a recurring emergency to manage (fundraise → respond → repeat), rather than addressing the structural drivers — conflict, climate displacement, economic collapse — that keep producing the crisis. A just-transition lens would ask: is Nacht van de Vluchteling's model built to shift the system that produces refugees, or only to soften its impact each time?
