Necessaries
Goods and services suitable to the minor's station in life and actual current needs (Sale of Goods Act 1979, s 3(3)). The minor is only required to pay a reasonable price.
Chapple v Cooper (1844): Funeral arrangements for a deceased spouse were deemed a necessary service.
Nash v Inman (1908): Fancy waistcoats were not necessaries as the minor already had adequate clothing.
