Schools with student nutrition program follow Student Nutrition Program Guidelines (2020) developed by the ministry of Children and Youth Services
All schools educational programs follow provicial legislation relating to nutrition and nay other perint legislation
eg Policy/Program Memorandum 150 in Ontario setting nutrition requirements for foods and drinks sold or served to students

Political, economic, social issues, trends, goals, forming the implementation
diversity and inclusion from food allergies/intolerances, cultural and religious foods, concern about getting labeled as "picky eaters". Teachers pointed out halal/vegetarian foods must be made available
Include healthy food that reflects cultures and food traditions, meet religious accommodations and provide options for vegetarians and vegans
