Central Tendency
Mean: is the average of a set of scores. To find it, add all the scores together and divide the total by the number of scores. The mean for a population is represented by μ (mu), while the mean for a sample is represented by M or x̄ (x-bar).
Population mean : The average score for an entire population. It is found by adding all the scores in the population and dividing by the total number of scores. The population mean is represented by the symbol μ (mu).

Weighted mean : an average in which some scores are given more importance, or “weight,” than others. It is calculated by multiplying each score by its weight, adding those products together, and dividing by the total of the weights.
Introducing a new score
Adding a new score to a distribution, or removing an existing score, will usually change the mean.
When you add the same constant to every score, the mean also increases by that same amount. Likewise, when you subtract a constant from every score, the mean decreases by that same amount.
If every score is multiplied or divided by the same constant, the mean is also multiplied or divided by that same constant.
Median is the middle score in a set of scores when the scores are arranged from lowest to highest. If there is an even number of scores, the median is found by averaging the two middle scores.

Interpolation: a method used to estimate a value that falls between two known values. In statistics, it can help find the exact location of the median when the middle point falls between two scores.
Symmetrical distribution : a distribution where the scores are spread out evenly on both sides of the center. The left and right sides have similar shapes, like a mirror image.
Skewed Distribution: is a distribution where the scores are not evenly spread out around the center. One side has a longer tail than the other, causing the data to lean toward one direction.
Positively Skewed Distribution: a distribution where most of the scores are grouped on the lower end, while a few higher scores create a long tail that stretches to the right.
Negatively Skewed Distribution: a distribution where most of the scores are grouped on the higher end, while a few lower scores create a long tail that stretches to the left.

Bimodal: a distribution has two scores or values that occur most often. In other words, the data has two modes.
Multimodal: a distribution has three or more scores or values that occur most often. In other words, the data has multiple modes.
Major mode: the score that occurs most frequently in a distribution when there are multiple modes. It is the mode with the highest frequency.
Minor mode: a score that occurs frequently in a distribution but occurs less often than the major mode.
is a statistical method used to find one score that represents the center of a group of data. Its purpose is to identify the score that is most typical or best represents the entire group.
Mode: is the score that appears most often in a set of data. A distribution can have one mode, more than one mode, or no mode if no score occurs more frequently than the others.
Line graph:a graph that uses points connected by lines to show how scores or values change across different categories or values. It is useful for showing patterns, trends, or changes in data.
