History
Track and field has been around since the start of the Olympics in Ancient Greece in 776 B.C. Over time, ancient Greeks added more running distances and field events, at first no woman were allowed to participate but over time more events were developed and woman were also permitted to join now there is a wide variety of events that athletes can join.
