what is it?
Television is an electronic system that transmits images and sound, converting them into electrical waves and then reassembling them into visible light rays and audible sound for viewers. This technology extends human senses of vision and hearing beyond their natural physical limits by reproducing scenes and sounds.
How does it work?
Television works by converting an optical image into electrical signals, which are then transmitted and reassembled on a screen to create a visible picture.
A television camera uses light-sensitive image sensors to capture an optical image and convert it into electrical signals representing primary colors (red, green, blue).
These signals are processed and modulated onto a carrier current, then broadcast as radio waves via a transmitter antenna.
A receiver antenna picks up the radio waves, and the signals are amplified and processed to drive electron beams in a cathode-ray tube (CRT) or activate pixels in flat-panel displays (like LCDs) to recreate the image.
