Parenting approaches where a childs' feelings are acknowledged are not wrong, however, scripture teaches that we may not act on every feeling, maturity is when a person inspite of how they may feel does not sin.

What is your responsibility according to scripture?

- protect (we must protect in areas where our children are too young or unable to protect themselves, screen time, exposure to harmful ideas or thinking, people in our lives...)

- lead your children (modern parenting approaches that teach partnership with children must be measured against the Word that teaches Godly authority and leadership. Partnership implies we may disagree and go our separate ways, however children are entrusted to us by the Lord and we will answer to God for our leadership of them or lack there-of)

Can you still obey God when it comes to your children?

Parable of the talents:
- We 'receive' babies who are selfish, emotional and concerned only for their own well being, we may not give them back in this state as young adults - still emotional, selfish and concerned only for their own well being. We do not want to hear the words concerning our parenting " You wicked and lazy servant"
