THE PATHWAY I HAVE CHOSEN IS...
Why It Might Not Be The Best Option/Pathway
Years of Required Education
: The average amount time for education is 5-6 years which is quite long.
Tuition
: Tuition costs a lot for undergrad alone, but then we also have to add the costs of teachers college. That would amount to somewhere near $58k. (Assuming I'm not an international student anymore by then.)
Registration
: There is a registration fee of $140 and an annual $200 dollar fee to the OCT to be able to teach.
Other Means of Income
: As there is no school during the summer, I might have to look for other sources of income.

Why I Want to Become a Teacher
"Experience"
: I get along great with kids, and with being the oldest of 11 cousins I have become the automatic babysitter.
Mutual Learning:
As a teacher, not only will I be the one teaching but I would also be learning from my students.
The Breaks
: Becoming a teacher offers regular breaks from day long breaks to week long breaks for me to rest up, that I wouldn't even have to schedule time off for!
The Memories
: Becoming a teacher is a surefire way to gain so many wonderful and cherished memories whether it we with colleagues or students.
Creativity and Interests
: If I become a teacher, I would have endless excuses to share and show my passions. Like adding references to my slides, starting a club, or even make an assignment based of my favourite book.
Nostalgia
: I would be lying if I said I never thought about becoming a teacher and applying to my old middle school. I can admit that one reason I want to become a teacher is to return to a place that holds so many of my memories.
Job Security
: Teachers right now are on demand as there is an educator shortage. Once I have secured a full-time permanent job and have been there for long enough, I am likely not going to worry about if I'll have a job the next year.
Salary
: According to MyBlueprint the salaries can range from $55k on the low end and $127k on the high end and that does seem like a solid and secure salary to me.
