Slide 1: "Good afternoon, everyone. Welcome to the Taiwan People party. It is our great pleasure to have you here today. Our party's name reflects our core mission: we are named after Taiwan, and driven by the people.
Slide 2: About TPP "We are a relatively young political party, founded in 2019. However, despite our short history, we have rapidly grown to over 32,000 members across the country.
Slide 3: Core Values "Everything we do is guided by three core values: Inclusivity, Co-prosperity, and Transparency. These principles shape our policies and our vision for Taiwan's future."
Slide 4: Our Leaders "Let me briefly introduce our leadership. Our current Chair is KC Huang, a prominent legislator and the former TPP Caucus Leader in the Legislative Yuan. Our Founding Chair is Dr. Ko Wen-je, a former Taipei City Mayor, who was also our presidential candidate in 2024."
Slide 5: Elected Officials "Currently, our political presence continues to grow. We have 1 City Mayor, 3 Deputy Mayors or Magistrates, 8 Legislators in the national parliament, and 15 local Councilors serving communities across Taiwan."
Slide 6: 2024 Election Results "In the 2024 elections, we made history. As a first-timer, we secured 26% of the presidential vote—about 3.7 million votes—and 22% of the party-list legislative vote. With 8 seats out of 113, we now play a crucial role as the 'Critical Minority' in the Legislative Yuan."
Slide 7: Achievements in the Past 2 Years "Over the past two years, we’ve pushed for vital Judicial Reforms, including the Whistleblower Protection Act and Streaming of court trials. In Human Rights, we championed the New Immigrants Basic Act and the Surrogacy Act. For Housing, we’ve been working hard to improve transparency in the rental market."
Slide 8-10: Social Media & Programs "To engage directly with the public, we rely on independent media. We have a massive following: over 400,000 on YouTube, 250,000 on Facebook, and 100,000 on Instagram. We also have a TPP self-produced daytime political talk show, which has a live broadcast every 12 P.M. Slide 11: Why the Younger Generation Supports Us "You might wonder why Taiwan's youth support us so strongly. It’s because they are looking for real change. They appreciate our approach—which is based on pragmatism, rationalism, and science—and our self-sufficient independent media that speaks directly to their concerns."
Slide 12: Diplomatic Goals "On the international front, our goals are clear: Guarding democratic values, maintaining Indo-Pacific prosperity, defending Taiwan’s sovereignty, and ensuring cross-strait peace through communication and deterrence.
Slide 13-14: City Diplomacy (Houston) "Our diplomatic efforts also extend to robust city-to-city engagements. Recently, the City of Houston proclaimed April 26th as 'Taiwan People’s Day'.
