Students will use Abstraction to identify the most important ideas in a story and remove unnecessary details. Using Coggle, students will create a Theme Mind Map that visually organizes key story elements — characters, setting, major events, and important details — and then abstracts those details into one clear theme statement.
Students will read a short story (teacher-provided), pull out only the essential information, and build a mind map showing how the theme emerges from the text.
