EPITHELIAL TISSUE - Coggle Diagram
EPITHELIAL TISSUE
main function:
POLARIZATION:
- highly polarized
- compartimentalization of the organelles
- nucleus --> base of the cell
- organelles --> upper part
identify a cell
basal surface/domain:
- facing the basement membrane
- contact with the zone between epit. cells and underlying connective tissue
-
lateral surface/domain:
- communicate with adjacent epit. cell throug cellular junction
-
-
BASEMENT MEMBRANE/BASAL LAMINA:
- epithelia rest on a basement membrane
cellular surface: protein + polysacharides
- area of contact and adhesion between the epithelal cells and underlying connective tissue
- essential for the supply of oxygen and nutients from the connective tissue to the epithelial tissue
CELL JUNCTION
- facilitate adhesion between cells
ABSENCE OF INTERCELLULAR SUBSTANCES
- highly cellularity tissue
cells are tightly adhered and connected
form mono or multilayered sheets
LACK OF VASCULARIZATION
- if present copromise the compactness of the tissue and the consequent barrier effect of the epithelia
Three enbryonic leyers:
ECTODERM
-
-
epithelium of the oral, nasal, anal cavity
-
ENDODERM
body cavities communicating with the outside and glandular epithelia (both included and not in the wall of the organ)
-
-
MESODERM
-
-
mesothelium:
- simple squamous epithelium
lining epithelium of the
SEROUS CAVITY
-
are:
PERITONEAL C.:
- Delimited by PERITONEUM
- sorround the viscera of the abdomen cavity
- Irregular --> different structures + different thickness
- vascularized
-
-
-
EPICARDIUM.
- visceral layer
- envelops the heart
PARIETAL LAYER:
- adheres to the wall of mediastinal region
-
-
-
-
organs
HOLLOW ORGANS
LUMEN
- a wall that sorrounds a cavity
TUNICS
- overlaping layer of different tissue
-
-
-
-
PARENCHYMATOUS ORGANS
- Made up of the PARENCHMA: give the structural and functional characteristics
organ surronded by a CAPSULE of dense connective tissue:
- inside we can identify a region, HILUM, through which nerves, vessels, ducts, pass in and out --> groupped in PEDUNCLE
-
-
VASCULAR ORGANS:
- wall of 3 concentric layer
-
- MEDIUM TUNIC:
elastic connective t. + smoth muscle t.
