Living in a digital world
Technology is everywhere now and we use it to learn ,talk to family and friends , and solve problems. But we need to be smart about how we use it
Good things about technology
Staying connected
Apps like WhatsApp help families talk to each other even when they live in different countries. For example, grandparents in Malaysia can see their grandchildren in Singapore everyday.
Smart helpers
Artificial intelligence , or AI , can help us learn and solve problems faster than ever before
Helping everyone
Technology helps people with disabilities communicate better and learn more easily, making education accessible to all.
Problems with technology
Health issues
Too much screen time hurts eyes , causes headaches, makes body tired, and leads to poor sleep.
Security threats
Risks online scams, cyber bullying ,fake websites, and password theft.People use internet to trick or hurt others.
Why this matters
There is a big “digital gap” between young people who grew up with technology and older people who didn’t.
Our responsibility:Young people must help and guide elders so they are not left behind.
Real impact
Teaching grandparents to use smartphones safely protects them from scams or fake news and keeps them connected.
Example:teaching grandfather to spot fake WhatsApp messages can protect his life savings from criminals
Bigger picture:when we help elders use technology,we are not just teaching skills,we are protecting them.
Singapore’s smart Nation initiatives

Coding in schools
