Physical Symptoms w/ anxiety
The Amygdala - The brain’s smoke detector. It scans for threats and triggers the alarm.
The Prefrontal Cortex - The logical brain. Its job is to assess the threat and hit the "brakes" if it's a false alarm. In high anxiety, the amygdala essentially hijacks the PFC.
The Autonomic Nervous System - Explain the Sympathetic nervous system (fight, flight, or freeze) vs. the Parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest).
Hormones + Neurotransmitters - How adrenaline and cortisol flood the body to prepare for physical action, which explains symptoms like shaking, sweating, and racing heartbeats.
