foucault, lytotard, etc - there are no sure foundations to knowledge, knowledge cant be judged as true or false, an all embracing theory that claims to have the truth is just someones version of the truth
-many post modernists argue that all views are true to people who hold them, this means the truth is relative, knowledge is not about then truth, but language games or ways of seeing the world
-society today is not about selling goods, but buying and selling knowledge in the form of images and signs that arent real
