storage for the classroom
first thoughts
a wide, sliding door cupboard with a whiteboard and pinboard door. Lots of storage for books and stationary; dangerous equipment (scissors, glues) are stored on a high shelf so young children can't access it.
the product should save space and help keep the classroom organized and decluttered.
the product should prevent items being taken, it should alert the teacher if anything is missing to save time and effort of manual searching
a storage 'tub' on the students' desk that can tell the teacher if any stationary is missing.
a chair which opens up, students (mainly in primary school) will store books, classwork and projects inside, meaning space for storage is minimal.
key words
storage - keeping items of a particular use in one place for future use
my product is based on storage in the classroom; this is key because my context is based on storage.
safe - protected from or not exposed to danger
my product will be designed to prevent stealing; this means stationary cannot be taken or go missing.
children - people before reaching adulthood or under the age of 18
this links to the context because this product will be mainly used by students to keep on track with their work.
classroom - a dedicated space where students learn or develop
a classroom is the main space on which this product will be applied and used as it helps teachers stay organized; it optimizes learning.
declutter - removing mess or disorder from a space
by keeping stationary or books out of the way, teachers can teach more thoroughly without any disruptions.
interests
i am most interested in the storage 'tub' because, for me, it is the most compelling idea out of the three. I would enjoy this because i believe that storage shouldn't be a dilemma for teachers and restrict their teaching; i understand that learning is important-especially for the youth as it is their prime point for brain development.
a task for this product is how to alert the teacher when a piece of stationary is misplaced or taken. this will be difficult as it has to alert the teacher without them
