It makes no difference whether you ask forgiveness for them or not, Allah will not forgive them
-
Ayah 7-8
’Abdullâh ibn Ubai, the chief hypocrite in Medina, stirring trouble between the muslims after a small dispute broke out between them
He advised the Ansar: Do not spend anything on those emigrants with the Messenger of Allah so that they will break away from him.
He provoked the Helpers of Madinah against the Emigrants that they should drive out the muhajireen from their city
Allah revealed
They (hyprocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable (us) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. them)." But honour, power and glory belong to Allâh, and to His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not.
