How should we protect the environment?
3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Reduce (conserve resources)
Bring a reusable water bottle instead of buying bottled drinks.
Print only when necessary.
Turn off lights and fans when not in use.
Avoid using too many plastic bags.
Reuse (reduce amount of waste sent to landfills)
Reuse shopping bags.
Use both sides of a piece of paper.
Turn old jars into storage containers.
Donate old clothes, books, and toys.
Recycle (process used materials into new products)
Recycle paper, plastic bottles, metal cans, and glass.
Place recyclable items in recycling bins.
Separate recyclable materials from general waste.
Participate in green initiatives organised in the community/school → VIA experience?
Useful anecdotes:
Recycling Activity - Last year, my school organised a recycling competition. My classmates and I collected paper and plastic bottles for several weeks. Through this activity, I learned the importance of sustainability efforts and environmental protection.
Clean-Up Activity - I participated in a neighbourhood clean-up organised by my school. Although the work was tiring, it was satisfying to see the area become cleaner. The experience taught me about civic responsibility.
Saving Electricity - At home, my family makes an effort to switch off lights and electrical appliances when they are not being used. This simple habit helps conserve energy and reduce waste.
