Class activity:
Learners will work together in a small group using a torch and a ball model the sun and moon. They will shine the torch onto the ball and observe how the light changes as the ball is turned. Learners describe and discuss what they observe about the light and the shadows from the ball. I would show the learners examples of the phases of the moon. ( Space ranger Fred, 2025)

While observing the moon, one can notice the change in its shape and position in the sky

Learners will listen to the cultural story about the moon and then draw to explain what they understand about the story/the sky at night.

Class activity:
Learners will design a simple model of moon phases. They will use the model to demonstrate how the moon has different phase and the shape of the moon appears to change. Learners will explain their model to the class.
