Chapter 6: Probability of a specific outcome is the fraction or proportion of all possible outcomes.
The probability of drawing the queen of hearts from a deck is 1 card out of 52 cards, or 1 out of 52.
-
The probability of drawing a queen is 4 out of 52, so p (queen) is 4/52 or 1/13.

Normal distributions are symmetrical, have the mean in the center, and taper off to both sides.

Important Note: When identifying proportions/probabilities of specific Z-values in a normal distribution, it is important to draw a diagram of the target proportion to avoid careless errors
Probabilities between two different Z-scores. Find the Z-scores first, look up the probabilities in the Unit normal table, and calculate accordingly Remember to draw a picture of the distribution.
