Late 1939: 70% of German households posses radios with limited range
Radios are placed in factories, public areas and in bars/cafés.
Cheap radio "Volksempfänger" was mass produced.
1938: Propaganda in 12 languages to foreign countries.
Socialist and communist newspapers banned.
Literature, Music and film
Controlled by department VII of Goebbels ministry
literature has to follow these 4 categories:
German Heroism
Promoting NS Weltanschauung
uniqueness of German spirits
superiority of Aryan race
Jewish orchestras were banned
Music was allowed if Hitler liked it but prohibited when he didn't.
Films were meant to build unity and to built cult of personality around HItler
By WW2 antisemitic Films are allowed.
Majority of movies were not propaganda.
Theatre
Purge of Jewish and leftist actors and producers
controlled through Reich Theatre Chamber under Hanns Johst
Theatre becomes vehicle of performance that exalted german Nationalism and the evils of communism and democracy
Art
Elimination of "Bolshevization" of art
Artist are vetted for their political reliability.
Museum and Galeries are raided and everything not in the spirit of National Socialism is removed
Nazi Art: "stressed heroism"
Artists of 3rd Reich have to spread message of the regime - Propaganda
