BACTERIA (Concepts and definitions)
Main characteristics of bacteria.
Its unicellary so each bacterium is an independent one
Most bacteria uses cell wall wich provides structural support
Bacteria repoduces asexualy and a single cell can split its DNA to make identical cells
They contain ribosomes within their cytoplasm to synthetise proteins
Many bacteria have a flagella to prople themselves as a way of mobility
They have a prokaryotic structure their genetic material floats freely in the nucleoid
Bacterial clasification systems
Phylogenetic
Divides all celular life into bacteria, archaea and eukarya forming a universal "tree of life"
Phenotypic clasification
Based on physiscal, metabolic, and chemical traits
Genotypic
analises chemical building blocks and genetic blueprints of bacteria
Bacteria reproduction
Bacterias are asexual meaning they repoduct by themselves with a process called binary fission.
Binary fission bacteria copies his own DNA structure splits in half making two identical dauguer cells.
This process makes bacteria doble its population in less than 15 minutes!
Important facts about bacteria (Real world aplications)
They lack a membrane-bound nucleous plus, they are increadibaly abundandnt being found literaly everywhere
While often bacteria is assumed with illness less than 7% of bacteria are a threat to the human body.
Bacteria is also known as the oldest life-form in earth
They can survive and be everywere no matter if its the depths of the ocean, radiactive waste or the coulds in the sky
6 Main characteristics :
How does it reproduces?
Over 3.5 Billion years!
Clasified into 3 difrent types
