        In NW, characters like Natalie/Keisha embody reinvention most explicitly. Natalie reconstructs herself through education and middle class success.
      - Mrs. Dalloway, Clarissa carefully perform the role of upper class hostess and social organizer.
      - The Buddha of suburbia, Karim actively reinvent himself through performance. His identity become fluid depending on his auidience. Reinvention can create opportunity but also distance him from any stable snese of authenticity.
  - - - In 1920's England status is essential to peoples livelihoods. Mortality is a hot commodity in this day and age because people will sell their souls just to be high class and for money. This is inspirational because Clarissa is rare and people are jealous of that.
