The future world is divided in 3 blocks: Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia. Oceania is ruled by "the Party" led by a figure called "Big Brother". His goal is to control people using telescreens, helicopters, the thought police and it was even invented Newspeak. Free expression or individuality is forbidden. Winston Smith, a former journalist employed by the Ministry of Truth, writes his historical records in a diary. His rebellion gain impetus when he encounters Julia. They are discovered from police and subject to torture and brainwashing in Room 101. Their will and resistance breaks and they're released.
setting
Squallid and menacing London, controlled by Big Brother. There's no privacy, love is forbidden, but there's a "Two Minutes Hate", history, language and thought are manipuled.
