Carbon Cycle - Coggle Diagram
Carbon Cycle
Biological Processes
Respiration
This is the process where living organisms break down organic matter and release CO2 back into the atmosphere or soil.
-
Decompisition
This is a crucial part of the carbon cycle where decomposing matter releases CO2 back into the atmosphere so it can be used again for photosynthesis
Human Impact
Burning Fossil Fuels
When humans burn fossil fuels an excessive amount of CO2 is released into the atmosphere and creates a greenhouse affect
Deforestation
Due to humans more and more forests are being decimated and the product of that is less CO2 consumption from plants. With no plants the carbon cycle cannot function properly and steps would be missing.
Agriculture
The farming of cows releases methane into the atmosphere and also with an abundance of cows eating plants carbon absorption is lost due to plant consumption
