Fountain pen: elegant, expensive, refillable, for calligraphy and fancy writing
Ballpoint pen, most common and affordable everyday use
Gel pen, common everyday use, a little more expensive than ballpoints
Other kinds for artist and calligraphy use like felt tip, marker pen, brush pens, dip pen etc
