Activity 1 : The learners will observe the moon everynight for 2 weeks . The learners will predict on which night a crescent moon will appear in that 2 weeks . The learners will record what they see each night for that 2 weeks by drawing a picture of the moon shape each night for that 2 weeks (Naude & Meier, 2025:112).

Inquiry based question 2 : When do you think the moon tends to appear , is it during the day or at night ? (Naude & Meier, 2025:112)

Activity 2: The learners will observe the sky during the day and at night for a week. The learners will draw what they see during the day and what they see at night and compare the two (DBE 2011:33) .
