Where something is not the defendant’s clear aim or purpose, intention may be established through oblique intent where the jury is satisfied that the defendant foresaw the consequence as virtually certai

only relevant to crimes of specific intent - these are crimes where intention MUST be proven such as murder. Where a crime is one of specific intent, intention can be direct or oblique
Where a crime is one of basic intent (this means where intention does not have to be proven) intention can only be direct and NOT oblique
