MAILBOX SYSTEM FACTORS CONCEPT MAP - Coggle Diagram
MAILBOX SYSTEM FACTORS CONCEPT MAP
Saftey
Ensure that mailbox is installed flush, with no loose ends
that could cause breakage
Resistors
Weather proofing (to protect internal wires)
Components
Arduino sensor
Wires
Arduino Bluetooth module V4.0
Arduino Uno R4
Materials
PLA Plastic (Could be used to 3d print, however it wouldn't be a very strong material)
Timber? (Stylish, however it wont be weatherproof. Weatherproof timber paint could be applied to improve its resistance to weathering possoibly?
Stainless steel? (could be used on the outside to deflect water and resist corrosion)
Aluminum panels (could be placed over a plastic or acrylic frame
Specific User needs
BLUETOOTH CHIP (This is because the user needs to be informed when mail has been placed inside the smart-mailbox)
A durable mailbox (Will require a smart selection of materials that are able to withstand periods of sporadic harsh weather conditions
Mailbox will need to have a design that's simple to operate (Open up) and simple for pedestrians/delivery people to insert mail into the mailbox
Cost
Arduino Compatible Bluetooth® V4.0 BLE Module
($31.95 at Jaycar)
Metal Mate 0.5 x 300 x 900mm Plain Aluminum Sheet ($28.83 at Bunnings warehouse)
Elegoo PLA filament Red 1.75mm 1kg ($19.95 at Jaycar)
Waste and energy
PLA plastic may have wastage during the 3d printing process, this needs to be considered
If stainless steel sheets are selected as the final material, some steel may reman unused, which will creat
Environmental Use
Will need to have a design that dosnt distrub local wildlife
Reduce junk mail, this is to ensure that the waste amount remains small, whilst also decreasing the probability of waste mail blowing into the local outdoor environment
Mailbox is outdoors 24/7, will require weatherproof materials
E.G stainless steel, ip67 waterproofing
Function
A sensor module inside the mailbox detects when mail has been inserted inside the mailbox, it then sends a signal to the bluetooth module
The mailbox will have a Bluetooth chip which sends a signal (from the sensor module) to a device to inform the user that mail has been delivered
The mailbox
