Abolitionist groups were an extension of the church because they were made to fight against the institution of enslavement, and the churches were able to help promote their agenda

Industry v. Agriculture
The climate in the Northern Industry was much more cooler, and wasn't fit for growing crops, while the Southern climate was warm, sunny, and had Fertile soil, which was key for agriculture.
The Northern Workforce was made of lots of Factories, cities, and big industries, while using Immigrants with very low wages for employees.
The Southern Workforce was made up of farming and agriculture, using the Fertile soil for plantation systems and cash crops. The south used enslaved African people to work in the field and grow cash crops.

Sectionalism
The South had very long growing seasons and a warmer climate. The South also had very rich soil for farming while the North had very short growing seasons and a colder climate.
The new Southern states led to the regional division because the North and the South developed in different ways. The North had industries to make profit while the South used farming to make profit.

Uncle Tom's Cabin
The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 required any person to aid in the capture of runaway slaves, or else they would be punished.

Southerners were upset over Stowe's novel because it led to more support for abolitionist groups and made the South look a lot worse.

Election Of 1860
Only white adult male men were actually allowed to vote in the election of 1860, not women or slaves.
Popular sovereignty is where the citizens and people are the source of the political power for the government, with all the decision's having to be consented by the people.
Lincoln thought that slavery could stay in the south, but would not be able to expand into anywhere else of the U.S., which means his thought is to lessen the expansion of slavery.

The 10th amendment protects the states Rights by giving them their own smaller government and representatives.

The Fugitive slave act upset Northern abolitionist groups because it forced them to help with capturing runaway slaves, or else they would be punished.
