HCI's
Keyboard and mouse
Advantages They ensure that there's a large range of movement to more precision (which is provided by the mouse pad)
Disadvantages - Can be difficult for people that can't touch type which can lead to anger and frustration - Is a slow method when you're writing in a large quantity - Can cause injury from too much typing
Touch and gesture
Advantages Enhances productivity and efficiency by mimicking human gestures (these are used in many different fields - gaming, entertainment and medical)
Disadvantages - Not suitable for large amounts of data - Not very accurate - Tiring for long periods
Voice
Advantages Speaking is much quicker than typing, VUIs help users save time, regardless of what purpose an application serves

Embedded Systems
Built into a device or a system (washing machine, car, fridge). The HCI helps control the device e.g - the wash cycle for the washing machine, the HCI range of options is controlled by the manufacturer and not by the user
Banking
Users are able to access their online banking account VIA a HCI, on a mobile device or PC, with the HCI providing instructions on how to be used for logging in, E.G = typing a username and password, scanning a fingerprint, recording a phrase with a microphone.
Fitness
HCI's can be used in many fitness devices, treadmills or a fitbit, which is able to measure your health.
