The oceanic crust and the mantle spreads apart very slowly (about 4-5 cm per year) which causes very small and gentle earhtquakes.

Continental crust moves towards each other and start pushing against eachother. while pushing they rise up together to make fold mountains.

Often around volcanos there are beautiful scenery which attracts many tourists.
Because of the amount of resources which are found near a volcano, there re many jobs selling those resources.
A farmer is a good job to have when living near a volcano because the fertile land makes it good to farm crops.
Better resources
Semi-precious stones are often found near volcanos.
The warm environment means more fertile land which leads to better crops.
