The Theory of the mind
Leads to understanding of oneself
In kids, this knowledge starts forming around year
one and is formalized around 4 years of age
In elementary school years:
• School reinforces the shift by
placing increasing demands on
students to work hard, adhere to
schedules, focus on goals, and
achieve success in well-defined
tasks.
• Being successful in achieving
milestones bolsters children’s self-
esteem as motivated agents
Reflections:
I define myself as an independent woman who is not afraid to stand up to anyone and is able to help anyone in need. I am passionate about the things I love and never give up on my goals.
Gender, sexuality, and me ad a person gives me a sense of identity. It helps me determine and think about what my future could look like and helps me improve on myself.
I aspire my independence and perseverance from my identity. I am very determined to get the future I desire and am not afraid to go through challenges to get them.
