- Box the line range in the margin (e.g., “lines 1–6”).
- Underline the focus (e.g., “about the woman”, “about the weather”, “about what is happening”).
- Scan for four separate details (often nouns + verbs: who/what/where/what happens).
- Write four bullet points or four short sentences. Keep each point tight.
- Check you haven’t repeated the same idea in different words.
