DOD-Day Of Death
Lucy Chen, goes on a date with a suspiciously kind man Caleb Wright. He ends up to be working with criminal Rosalind Dyer, and spikes her drink, tattoos her Day Of Death on her and kidnaps her. When in the dessert, he tortures her and buries her alive underground. She is later found by her training officer Tim Bradford.

Kidnappings happen about 15,000 to 20,000 times a year and only about 35 % are reported, so it could be even more.
The act of being buried alive is linked to acts of terror by specific groups, usually for ransom.
The Chowchilla Case- 26 children in a bus, were kidnapped and loaded into a van. This was then put underground, this was for $5 of ransom. July 1976, they were underground for 16 hours.
