Troubleshooting
Main Landing Gear
Problem
Brakes won’t hold
Possible Cause
Improper conditioning of brake pads and disc
Brake fluid or grease on disc and pads
Wrong brake fluid causing piston blockage
Pads worn below minimum wear limits
Action
Perform conditioning procedure (step 2 and 3)
Clean the disc and change the pads
Change all seals and use correct fluid
Replace brake pads
Problem
Insufficient hydraulic pressure
Possible Cause
Improper master cylinder bore
Action
Check master cylinder type and geometry
Problem
Rapid disc and pads wear
Possible Cause
Improper conditioning of pads and disc
Frequent overheating of disc and pads
Action
Perform conditioning procedure (step 2 and 3)
Replace brake assembly with higher capacity model
Problem
Excessive rusting, scoring or pitting of brake disc
Possible Cause
Surface damage
Action
Repair or replace the disc and pads
Problem
Cracked or distorted wheel flanges
Possible Cause
Improper tire inflation pressure
Action
Replace wheel flange and check tire pressure
Problem
Rapid decrease of tire pressure (0.7 bar per day)
Possible Cause
Improper tire mounting
Damaged seal
Leak at valve core
Scratches on sealing faces
Action
Disassemble and replace seals
Replace valve core
Replace damaged parts
Problem
Slow decrease of tire pressure (0.7 bar per month)
Possible Cause
Normal pressure decrease in tubeless tires
Action
Inflate to correct pressure
Check pressure monthly
Problem
Wheel flange damages
Possible Cause
Deformed flanges
Anodizing removed (>15%)
Heavy nicks or bearing damage
Deep corrosion
Scratches on sealing surfaces
Action
Replace wheel flanges
Propeller
Problem
Excessive blade angular play
Possible Cause
Broken pitch change block
Action
Propeller needs service
Problem
Excessive blade tip play
Possible Cause
Loose blade bearing
Action
Correct preload with shims at service station
Problem
Grease leakage at blade root
Possible Cause
Damaged blade seal
Action
Propeller needs service
Problem
RPM surging or unintentional pitch change
Possible Cause
System fault
Action
Pull circuit breaker immediately
Follow emergency procedures
Problem
Circuit breaker releases repeatedly
Possible Cause
Possible short circuit to ground
Action
Check wiring for wear
Send motor and control unit for inspection if needed
