Wordline GCC Options for their COO visit - Coggle Diagram
Wordline GCC Options for their COO visit
Base Context from 24-Apr from Sambit
Existing account - 70sh people - T&M
Has a setup in India including Pune - we work with them already
Part of the group we work with got acquired by another company - so the split has happened
Their GCC folks got rebadged to this new company that acquired this team/unit
Initial questions I had
What support are they looking for?
What are the challenges they are facing?
What are they expecting from this GCC-a-a-S overview session?
Have we given them some overview already about our GCC-a-a-S offerings?
Have we spoken to this group before to whom we would be presenting?
Kev we know, James we have spoken only once
Are they wanting to change the current engagement mode of current teams?
No
Are they considering BOT for current teams operating under Cybage to their payroll?
How long would this session be?
At least an hour
Options that we need to refine
Continue with current mode where we co-exist with their GCC?
Help them setup an entity? [They already have an entity - so this may be ruled out]
Provide them corporate functions as a service?
HR, Employee Engagement, Recruitment, Finance, Legal, Systems
Furnished workspace, IS, Network, hardware etc.
Trainings, CTG, PMO, AM + DM Alignment, ExcelShore
Help them setup teams that we transfer to them after x months? [We are working like a bridge]
What is GCC-a-a-S?
It's a different commercial construct [consider this in a way is an "a la carte" cost+ model]
For companies who are considering setting up their own entity
We can be a bridge keeping their shortlisted people on our payroll, till they have their own entity, and then we transfer them to their payroll
We can even help them setup their own entity
After the people are transferred to their payroll, they can still avail our services - be it engineering, non-engineering or even corporate functions
We can provide these engineering, non-engineering or corporate functions services from day 1 too to companies that already have a GCC in India - which means we can co-exist
Detailed inputs captured during call on 27-Apr
WL has WGS as their India setup
METS business of WL was sold to Magellan Partners
WGS services WL and METS (now under Magellan Partners)
Magellan Partners is more into IT services and consulting, they don't have an offshore setup as such
They don't have a brand name in India
They may require HR support, etc. they may require workforce.
Some bigger players like Wipro etc. already pitched GCC-a-a-S to WL before the split
Wipro BTW is doing this for Revantage/Blackstone
They felt that Cybage has not pitched in the same way
Currently it is 300-400 people. But the owner from Magellan who is not travelling has the ambition to scale to 1000
The cost benefit between Cybage providing services and they going their own GCC route is not significant
They are pushing more to do things inhouse - box standard stuff they will do internally; where as SNOW, move to Cloud etc - they will engage Cybage (they tried doing that internally and they failed)
Kev is coming - he is a people's guy. He has worked with us. He reports to James. Didier is the owner - at Magellan
Shantanu is coming over. He is not going to be the head of the Magellan GCC; they want to hire someone else
It is not clear what they want to outsource what they want to manage themselves
They recognize that they don't have brand name in India
In India they have split floors from the WL office; from they where they continue to work. Not sure if they would want to move out of there
They are still scratching their heads on how we provide the service at this cost
They may want to run the ODC model and GCC model in parallel
This is the first acquisition that Magellan has made that has the size and revenue comparable with Magellan. And they are looking to engage more closely - to see how they can benefit from India. Magellan is 2900, and METS is 3800.
Dedier's (owner) focus is shifting from revenue to profitability, and their CFO BTW is his daughter
The part Magellan has acquired is beyond METS. We have knowledge of METS mainly.
James would rather engage with Cybage, but Didier may lean towards doings things inhouse since it is more optimum as per him.
Didier may come to India in June, July; he is final decision maker
They should be explained the advantage of working with a services provider that provides them quality and consistency, with flexibility - with optimized costs
