I found it interesting that emotions have interpersonal functions, especially how facial expressions and tone can influence others’ behavior.
For example, the “visual cliff” study shows how people (even babies) rely on others’ emotional signals to decide what to do.
The idea of cultural display rules made me realize that emotions aren’t expressed the same way everywhere.
